Walks & Nature

Herefordshire offers over 2,000 miles of largely undiscovered and unspoilt footpaths. These include the 154 miles of the recently opened Herefordshire Trail. It is the only long distance trail in England, which is within the same county boundary. The cottages are at the heart of these footpath trails offering unrivalled access to some of Britain's most beautiful walks. Guided tours can be arranged by separate booking.

Just across the river, The Royal Forest of Dean is one of England's few remaining ancient forests, covering over 110 square kilometers of woodland. It lies between the rivers Wye and Severn, in the western part of Gloucestershire, and on the borders of Wales and Herefordshire.

And for nature lovers, there are the Peregrine Falcons which nest below Symonds Yat rock, within site of the cottages and wild fallow deer, which can sometimes be seen grazing by the river, just upstream from the cottages, at dawn or dusk.
