Being near the historic border with Wales, the cottages are a short drive from impressive castle ruins such as Goodrich or Raglan or the smaller but more personal castles such as Grosmont and Skenfrith.

Local towns such as Ledbury, Monmouth and Hereford provide a taste of both intimate history and the grandeur of Cathedrals. While Abbergavenny, over the border in Wales, is the gateway to the wilds of the Black Mountains.

There are also numerous interesting houses to visit such as the Eastnor and Croft Castles or the 18th Century mansion Berrington Hall.
